Leaking urine when you cough or jump? Do kegels they say!
Feeling like you always have to run to the bathroom? Kegels!
Are you pregnant or just had a baby? Kegels! Kegels! Kegels!

Although kegels are incredibly beneficial for strengthening your pelvic floor so you can address some of these issues, there are some cases in which kegels may not be recommended as the first line of treatment. More specifically, people who present with hypertonic or "high toned" pelvic floor muscles may develop or worsen any existing issues by consistently doing kegels because they are further tightening tight muscles.
